Delivery of the turbines is due to take place early next year with project completion expected by the end of 2015. The contract also includes a five year servicing deal. Taxway is a wholly owned subsidiary of Spanish power supplier Grupo Cobra.

The project is located in southern Uruguay close to the Uruguayan capital Montevideo.

A year ago today, the Danish turbine manufacturer announced a deal to supply the V112-3MW turbines to the 50MW Carape project in Uruguay, developed by Fingano.

Vestas has supplied over 140MW to Uruguayan projects after installing its first turbine in 2008.
