GE picked for 40MW Polish project

POLAND: GE has won a contract to supply turbines with a capacity of 40MW for installation on a Polish wind project.

GE will install its 2.5MW turbines on the project

PGE Energia Natury PEW has ordered 16 of GE's 2.5-100 turbines for its Karwice wind farm, near Darlowo on the Baltic coast.

On top of installation, GE will provide monitoring and diagnostic services from its facility in Salzbergen, Germany.

GE already has 155 turbines installed in Poland, and this project will bring its total capacity in the country to 372MW.

Poland installed 893MW in 2013, but installations this year are running much slower, with regulatory uncertainty hampering development. The country has an operating capacity of 3.4GW.
