The government-backed body has opened two fast-track funding calls. The first is supported by trade body RenewableUK and is valued at £2.5 million. It is directed at small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and their capital investment plans.
The second fund will be worth £2 million and will be available to large enterprises as well as SMEs. It is targeted at "accelerating their investment in innovation projects".
While the UK is a clear leader in offshore wind installations, it has been criticised by industry observers for failing to develop a significant domestic supply chain.
Both calls are looking for applications from English companies that can use the funding over the next six months. Applications will be assessed on their ability to create jobs and develop market presence in the offshore wind supply chain.
Expression of interest applications should be submitted by 15 October. Successful applicants will be required to have substantively completed their projects by 30 April 2015.
