The Dutch firm will send one of its two jack-up vessels to work alongside Van Oord's new Aeolus vessel at the site, 85 kilometers off the coast. The vessel will help install the 150 foundations and 4MW Siemens turbines.
Swire Blue Ocean has two jack-up vessels in its fleet, the Pacific Orca and the Pacific Osprey, both built by Samsung Heavy Industries.
The Pacific Osprey previously installed turbines at Vattenfall's 288MW DanTysk offshore project. The Pacific Orca recently completed the foundation installation at the Borkum Riffgrund 1, developed by Dong Energy.
A spokesperson for Squire Blue Ocean said a decision on which vessel would be used will be made closer to the time depending on availability. The scope of the work is yet to be agreed.
Installation at the Gemini project is expected to begin in 2015.
