EDF's Renewable Services operations and maintenance unit will provide technicians to help Romax service projects in the US.

The UK-based technology firm said it hoped that by combining expertise with EDF, it would help develop monitoring and maintenance technology further. This would bring the cost of O&M down for any potential customers.

Romax InSight offers monitoring software , engineering, inspections and advice on predictive maintenance to onshore and offshore wind projects.

Ashley Crowther, Romax InSight vice president, said the two companies had previously worked together servicing projects. "It was clear they were the right partner," he added.

In 2012, American renewables developer and services company enXco changed its name to EDF Renewable Services.

The company was bought by EDF Energies Nouvelles, part of the EDF group, in 2002.
