Included in the transfer were the five Alstom Haliade 6MW turbines that are destined for the Block Island project in Rhode Island, US, so that their assembly could continue in the new factory.
Alstom said that the preparation of the plant will continue until the end of September. Until then, new manufacturing equipment will be installed and tested.
The production line will be started up step by step until the new factories are fully operational in early 2015.
Alstom's commitment to building the EUR 2 billion facilities is seen as key to an EDF Energies Nouvelles-led consortium winning a tender to build three offshore projects in French waters.
The factory will be used to construct Haliade turbines for the 450MW Courseulles-sur-Mer, 498MW Fécamp and 480MW Saint Nazaire projects, all due online in 2018.
