The Spanish manufacturer will construct the Assuruá I, Assuruá VI, Capoeiras I, Capoeiras II, Curral de Pedras III and Curral de Pedras IV wind farms in the Xique-Xique region being developed in the state of Bahia in the north-east of the country.
All these projects, with a combined capacity of 166MW, are being developed by CER and will feature Gamesa's G97-2MW turbines.
This is the second agreement between Gamesa and CER, following a contract recently completed for the supply of 68MW of turbines, also for the Xique-Xique complex.
The remaining 48MW of turbines will be installed on Eletrosul's Coxilha Seca, Capão do Inglês and Galpões wind farms in the Cerro Chato complex in the state of Rio Grande do Sul in southern Brazil.
Gamesa will install its G114-2MW turbine on these projects. This is the first time that the low-to-medium-wind turbine has been ordered for a Brazilian project.
The turbines are scheduled for delivery this year, while the facility is expected to be commissioned during the second half of 2015.
