According to Gamesa, the contracts have been signed with three of the country's main independent power producers.

The Spanish manufacturer will deliver 110 G97-2MW turbines to five projects in the states of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan in the north of the country and Karnataka in the south-west.

The turbines will be made at local factories and are due to be delivered in March 2015, with Gamesa providing long-term operations and maintenance to the projects.
