Dong sells half of Gode Wind 2

GERMANY: Dong Energy has agreed to sell half of the 252MW Gode Wind 2 project in the German North Sea to a consortium of Danish pension funds.

Industriens Pension, PKA, Laerernes Pension and Laegernes Pensionskasse have paid a total of €600 million for the stake. Dong will retain the remaining 50% of the project.

Construction of the project is expected to begin in 2015, with commissioning of this, alongside Gode Wind 1, due in 2016.

Dong will lead the project through to the end of construction and will provide operations and maintenance services once the wind farm is in operation.

At completion of the transaction, PKA will acquire 24.75%, Industriens Pension 10.5%, Lærernes Pension 8.75% and Lægernes Pensionskasse 6%.
