Gamesa signs 290MW US and Mexico deals

UNITED STATES: Gamesa has been handed a deal to supply 290MW of turbines to projects in the US and Mexico.

95 G114-2MW turbines will be installed at the Kansas project

The US deal will see Gamesa supply 95 G114-2MW turbines to Spanish developer EDP Renováveis (EDPR) for the Waverly Wind project in Kansas, central USA.

According to the Spanish manufacturer, it is the largest order to date for the G114-2MW turbine.

The order will be delivered in the third quarter of 2015 and the project is due to be commissioned by the end of next year.

In January, the two companies signed a 450MW framework agreement, under which Gamesa will supply up to 225 G114-2MW low wind turbines to EDPR. The deal runs until the end of 2016

Gamesa will also be supplying 50 G97-2MW turbines to a project in central Mexico for an unnamed utility company.
