The Dutch foundation manufacturer will construct and assemble 67 monopiles and 67 transition pieces. The first foundation is due to be delivered by January 2016, with installation expected to start by May 2016.

British engineering firm Atkins was appointed to design the foundations for Dudgeon, which will be made up of 67 Siemens SWT-6.0-154 6MW turbines.

At the start of July, joint Norwegian developers Statoil and Statkraft made the final investment decision to go ahead with the project.

Earlier this week, Dutch cable firm Visser & Smit Marine Contracting (VSMC) was awarded the EUR 110 million contract to supply the cabling to the project, located 32 kilometres off the coast.

In the April, the project became one of the first to qualify for the UK's new Contract for Difference subsidy regime.
