The FICG consortium is made up of engineering firms CG, Cofely Fabricom and steel construction company Iemants.
Under the EUR 150 million order, FICG will design and install two high-voltage offshore substations — one for each of the two wind projects that make up Gemini — and one high -oltage onshore substation in the Netherlands.
The substations are due to be installed by the end of 2016.
In May, Dutch contractor Van Oord secured the engineering, procurement and construction contract to build the Gemini project.
The 600MW project is being developed by a consortium led by Canadian utility Northland Power.
FICG was contracted by Van Oord in 2013 to supply the electricity convertor station for the 129MW Luchterduinen offshore wind project.
