Palfinger to supply cranes to Gode projects

GERMANY: Palfinger Marine has won the contract to supply 97 PF 8000 Cranes to the Gode Wind 1 and 2 projects in the German North Sea.

Palfinger Marine will supply the cranes to the 97 turbines at Gode Wind 1 and 2

The Austrian-based offshore crane specialist developed the cranes for the Dong Energy project.

The PF 8000 is a stiff boom crane with an electric winch and manual rotation to be used to lift parts and equipment from service vessels to a turbine's transition platform.

The 97 Siemens-6.0-154 turbines are due to be installed at the start of 2015 by A2Sea, with an expected commissioning date in the second half of 2016.

Gode Wind 1, with a capacity of 330MW and Gode Wind 2, at 252MW, are located 45 kilometres off the  German coast in the North Sea.

Palfinger has previously supplied cranes to Dong's 400MW Anholt wind farm, off Denmark.
