BT has purchased more than 100MW of power from the projects in Scotland, Wales and northern England.
The telecommunications company has agreed a 20-year PPA to buy 50% of the output produced by EDF Renewables' 144MW Fallago Rig development for £300 million (EUR 369 million). Fallago Rig, which is located in southern Scotland, was commissioned last year and uses 48 3MW Vestas turbines.
BT has also signed 15-year supply deals with the Mynydd Bwllfa 22.5MW project, currently being built in south Wales by Pennant Walters, and the three-turbine Heysham South site being developed by Banks Renewables in Lancashire, north England. BT agreed to pay £100 million (EUR 123 million) and £40 million (EUR 49 million) respectively for the power.
BT said the deal with Fallago Rig would provide enough electricity to power the company's entire Scottish operations.
