Cape Wind hires Tekmar for cable protection

UNITED STATES: Cape Wind Associates has handed Tekmar Energy a deal to supply its cable protection system to the 468MW Cape Wind project.

The company will supply 200 Teklink cable protectors for the inter-array cables and internal cable guide cones to the project.

Last month, Cape Wind announced the team helping to complete its geophysical surveys. Connecticut-based contractor Ocean Surveys will lead the project, with Fathom Research, AIS, Hercules SLR and the ESS Group, all based in Massachusetts, providing support.

Ocean Surveys, which helped the development in the planning stages, will now investigate the site's subsea geology on Horseshoe Shoal and offshore cable routes.
