Vestas appoints Central Europe head

GERMANY: Vestas has appointed Dr Christoph Vogel to be the president of Vestas Central Europe. He will take up the role on 1 June.

Vogel arrives at Vestas from Johnson Controls, an American company working in energy efficiency solutions, where he was a vice president and general manager.

He takes over at the Danish turbine manufacturer from Klaus Steen Mortensen, currently president of Vestas Northern Europe, who was running the Central Europe division on an interim basis. Mortensen will continue in his role in Northern Europe.

Vogel has previously worked at Siemens in its Building Technologies subsidiary and was vice president at Siemens Management Consulting.

He has a PhD in mechanical engineering and business administration from the Technical University Kaiserslautern.
