The think-tank is being set up by Danish electricity supplier SE and Engel will be joined on the advisory board by SE CEO Niels Duedahl as well as other business leaders and academics from the country.

Big Future 2025 will look at creating a sustainable future for Danish companies and help them expand using natural resources.

The think-tank's first growth seminars will be held in Copehagen and Fredericia at the end of June.

Engel was sacked as Vestas CEO in August 2013. He had been with the turbine manufacturer between 2005 and 2013.

Vestas moved into profit in the first quarter of 2014, announcing an operating profit of EUR 40 million compared with a loss of EUR 108 million over the same period last year, while under Engel's leadership.
