UNITED STATES: Texas, the biggest US wind state and the second most populous, is generating almost 10% of its electricity from wind.

Yet in some of the more rural states wind farms are providing a quarter of the electricity. Our maps below give a state-by-state overview of wind's installed capacity and share of electricity generation
