Venderby, who comes from his previous position as senior vice president of operations at Vestas Americas, will head the division that has been given greater importance under new CEO Anders Runevad.
The Danish manufacturer is establishing a new stand-alone services division as it pushes for the business to become "an increasingly important element" in its growth strategy.
This is the first time that Vestas has had a senior vice president for services.
On the announcement of Vestas' results in March, Runevad laid out his plans for the division, saying that he wanted to grow services by 30%. He also added that the new stand-alone organisation would report directly to him.
Venderby takes up his new role on 1 June. He joined Vestas in 2006 as the chief financial officer for North America and was appointed head of operations for the region in 2010.
