The Moy project near Inverness in the north of the country will be made up of 20 of its N100/3300 high wind turbines.

Nordex said it expects to deliver the machines in 2015, with commissioning due the following year. This will be the first time the model of turbine has been installed in the UK.

The manufacturer will also provide operations and maintenance services at the wind farm for a period of 15 years.

Strong winds and high turbulence mean that the site is in the IEC class 1a.
