The 150MW deal is for 75 V100 2MW turbines to go to the Origin project, which is being co-developed by RES Americas. It will include a three-year service agreement.
Delivery is expected in mid-2014, with the aim of commissioning the project by end-2014.
In July, the development was handed a 150MW power purchase agreement from Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corporation.
Vestas has also received a potential 836MW supply agreement from EGP for the manufacturer's 2MW machine — 200MW of this is unconditional.
US orders have been picking up for Vestas in the second half of the year. Recent deals include a supply agreement with EDF for 750MW to be delivered between 2014 and 2015, and 400MW to developer Duke Energy Renewables for use on two projects in Texas. The latter is Vestas' largest single deal since 2010.
The pick up in the US market has enabled the manufacturer to hire again after cutting jobs last year.
New positions are being added at its Windsor blade factory and the blade and nacelle factories in Brighton. Vestas has previously announced that it is to create about 100 jobs at its tower factory in Pueblo, also in Colorado.
