TUV Rheinland will determine if the turbine meets its criteria as a turbine suitable for the global market.

The machine has been a long time coming to market after the originally German company hit financial problems and filed for insolvency.

The first two 2.5MW machines were scheduled to be erected in the second half of 2010.

In November 2012, Indian firm RK Wind bought PowerWind's brand and intellectual property and took on the name of the defunct German manufacturer.

Historically the company has focussed on small and medium turbines, with its main product a 500KW turbine.

The manufacturer has recently opened new offices in the UK and Romania and in April reported its first sales since the Indian acquisition.
