Vestas makes 59MW Swedish sale

DENMARK: Vestas is to supply turbines with a capacity of 59MW to developer Eolus for use on four wind farms in Sweden.

V100-1.8MW turbines will be installed on some of the sites

The Swedish wind developer will buy 29 Vestas turbines of varying capacity and blade length for the projects in the south of the country.

The 14MW Skalleberg wind farm will feature eight V100-1.8MW and two V90-2MW turbines. Seven V100-1.8MW machines will be installed on the 13 MW Ramnas project.

The 14MW Mungserod development will be fitted with eight V100-1.8MW turbines, and the 13MW Alered project will have four of the V112-3.3MW model.

The contracts include installation and a 10-year service agreement.

The Ramsnas, Mungserod, and Alered projects are expected to be installed during the third quarter of 2014; the Skalleberg project, in the fourth quarter.

With this latest announcement, Vestas has received more than 400MW of firm orders from Eolus. The two companies signed a framework agreement in 2010, which is due to expire at the end of the year, for the supply of turbines with a capacity of 180MW.
