Vestas signs 23MW Turkish deal

TURKEY: Vestas has secured a 23MW order of its new V112-3.3MW turbine for the extension of a Turkish wind farm.

The new turbine is based on the V112-3MW model
The Bakras wind farm is being extended by Tefirom Group to bring its total capacity up to 65MW. Built in 2010, the existing development currently consists of five V90-3.0MW turbines.

The new turbines are set to be delivered in the first quarter of 2014, with commissioning due in the second quarter.

The contract includes supply, installation and commissioning of the turbines, as well as a five-year service agreement.

The V112-3.3MW is based on Vestas' V112-3MW machine. A prototype is currently being trialled at the Østerild test centre in Denmark.
