Repower wins 106MW deal in Australia

AUSTRALIA: Repower has been handed a 106MW order from Mitsui for a project in Australia.

The project will use Repower's MM92 turbine

The order is for 52 MM92 2MW turbines to go to the Bald Hills wind farm, which will be located in Victoria. The turbines will come with 92.5-metre hub heights.

Repower will deliver the turbines in Q2 2014 with the aim of commissioning the project by 2015.

Repower CEO Andreas Nauen described the order as a "milestone" for the company.

The Bald Hills order is the Repower's second biggest in Australia. The largest  was a 131MW contract from Australasian utility Meridian Energy, which it won last year.

The order comes two years after Repower Australia and Suzlon Energy Australia were merged under the Repower Australia name.
