Rodsand II is situated between the German island of Fehmarn and nine kilometres from the Danish island of Lolland.
This deal values the wind plant at DKK 3.5 billion (EUR 470 million) with E.on gaining DKK 3.2 billion (EUR 430 million) in cash.
The German utility will retain a 20% stake in the site, which has 90 Siemens 2.3MW turbines, and it will stay as the operator for the rest of the wind farm’s lifetime.
Klaus Schäfer, E.on’s chief financial officer, said the sale of a majority stake in one of the wind farm would allow it to reinvest.
Jesper Hjulmand, CEO of SEAS-NVE, said: "The Rödsand II wind farm is a very visible asset and a clear message about our role in the Danish transition towards sustainable energy."
