Vestas has sold turbines with a total capacity of 400MW to developer Duke Energy Renewables for use on two projects in the state.
The order is Vesta's largest turbine deal globally since 2010.
Construction on Los Vientos III and Los Vientos IV wind farms, which will feature 200 of Vestas' V110 2MW turbine, is expected to start in the first half of next year, with commissioning scheduled for 2015 and 2016.
Vestas' factories in Colorado will manufacture the blades, nacelles and towers for these projects. The deal includes a three-year service agreement, including remote monitoring to identify any faults.
Meanwhile, Iberdrola handed Gamesa a 202MW deal for a project in southern Texas.
The manufacturer will supply 101 G97-2.0MW turbines to be deployed at the Baffin wind farm being developed in the south of the state.
The turbines are set for delivery in mid-2014, with the facility predicted to go online towards the end of the same year. However, the project has not yet been granted local government approval.
Gamesa said in a statement that it believes Iberdrola is well positioned to deploy the turbines at other possible US sites if necessary.
The wind farm is the last phase of Iberdrola's Penascal project which, once commissioned, will have a total capacity of 606MW.
This agreement marks the largest single order for the G97 2MW model.
