Moog’s compact modular designed pitch system has been added to Envision Energy’s new 4MW offshore wind turbine, which is operating in Rudong, Jiangsu Province, 145 kilometres up the coast from Shanghai.
The American company said the new system offers greater safety and reliability, and up to 20% higher power generation-capacity than its counterparts.
Dave Fijas, Moog group vice president, said: "The past 20 years have seen our firm commitment to China’s energy market, where the wind power industry is prospering rapidly.
"With the successful operation of the new AC wind turbine pitch system on Envision Energy’s turbine, Moog will now be offering this solution to other customers in China."
