Denmark opens consultation on Horns Rev 3

DENMARK: The Danish Energy Agency has opened a consultation on the criteria required by companies to bid for the country's 400MW Horns Rev 3, in the North Sea.

The draft prequalification criteria looks at the financial, economic and technical aspects of the site, which lies 10km from Blåvandshuk, off Denmark’s west coast.

The DEA stated that to be considered for prequalification applicants must have a yearly turnover of at least DKK 15 billion (EUR 2 billion).

Applicants must also have experience with an offshore wind site of a minimum of 100MW within the last 10 years and operation and maintenance of an offshore plant of more than 25MW.

The consultation ends on 23 October 2013 and gives potential applications the chance to correct any misunderstandings or mistakes in the criteria, check which do not reflect market conditions and submit any  questions regarding the criteria.

The DEA will choose a maximum of six applicants.

National electricity transmission system operator, Energinet.dk, has undertaken geophysical surveys at both Horns Rev 3 and Kriegers Flak.
