Rosenzweig is set to leave the wind industry and join US solar firm SolarReserve.
In a statement, Goldwind said "Tim was hired on a three-year contract with Goldwind, which he fulfilled with outstanding results. He's chosen a new direction as a member of the leadership team of a solar company."
Prior to Goldwind, Rosenzweig was part of the launch team for UPC Wind, which later became First Wind. Before this, he was a vice-president at a private equity fund and a vice-president at GE Capital Services Group in Hong Kong.
Rosenzweig was appointed in May 2010, with a brief to build the company's presence in both North and South America.
Since then, Goldwind has built the first 100MW-plus project to use Chinese turbines at Shady Oaks, Illinois, and developed its business in Latin America.
