The deal announced yesterday is for just one 1.65MW machine going to a research and development and demonstration project developed by the National Research Energy Centre (NERC).
The project is located in Shoubak, bordering the western town of Tafilah, close to the planned-117MW wind farm of the same name.
In May this year, Danish turbine giant Vestas said it was negotiating a 117MW contract, although declined to confirm Talifah was the target. As yet no deal has been announced.
With the Jordan contract, MTOI is consolidating footholds in the Middle East region. Although MTOI has a factory in Olvega, Spain, its Spanish partners have ceded 90% control to Egyptian electrical engineering and cable giant El Sewedy.
MTOI says it is already supplying 37 1.65MW machines to the Dernah project, Libya's first wind farm, and towers to a 200MW project in Egypt.
