The company requires the cables to be operational by July 2018, when the wind farm located east of Denmark will be commissioned. Energinet has already shortlisted firms for the construction of converter facilities.
The contracts will be tendered in two lots, with the first comprising the supply and installation of 320kV high-voltage direct-current submarine cables, involving two 80 kilometre long extruded or single core cables and one armored fiber optic cable.
The transferred power will have to reach a minimum of 600MW.
The second lot relates to the supply and installation of a 150kV high-voltage alternating-current (HVAC) three-core subsea cable, at around 10 kilometres long with 500 metres of spare length. The cables should be able to handle transferred power of 200MW.
This lot also encompasses the supply and installation of a 150kV HVAC platform connection, which will comprise six single-core lead sheathed cables, measuring 100 metres in length with an additional 100 metres.
