The Manfredonia wind farm in Apulia on the southern Adriatic coast will consist of seven Nordex N100/2500 turbines.

Work on installing the turbines is expected to commence in spring 2014.

The project is being funded by Eolsiponto, a joint venture between Spanish banking group Santander and Italian developer Alerion. The contract marks the first time that Alerion has opted for Nordex turbines.

Previously the company has bought Vestas and Repower turbines.
