The Siemens 3.6MW turbines were originally scheduled for installation in the Irish Sea, off England’s north-west coast, for August.
The 108 turbine project is a joint venture between Dong Energy and ScottishPower Renewables.
A Dong spokesperson said: "Turbine installation has not started yet. Installation is imminent for the first turbine — we're not experiencing any problems. We don’t have a date that we can share at the moment."
The spokesperson said the company is waiting for the installation vessel, Sea Installer, which is currently in port in the Netherlands. It will go to Belfast, where it will be remobilised to install the SWT-3.6-120 turbines.
Foundations, monopiles and transition pieces have been installed at the 66-square-kilometre site.
Turbine installation is due to be finished by June 2014, with the project completed by the end of next year.
