Vattenfall completes Dan Tysk substation

GERMANY: The offshore substation for the 288MW Dan Tysk wind farm has been installed following a two-year construction period.

After the successful installation of the jacket foundation, the substation's platform was secured into place at the end of July by joint owners Vattenfall.

Using one of the world's largest heavy lift crane vessels, the Oleg Strashnov, the 3,200 tonne platform was lifted onto the jacket in less than one week.

The German North Sea Dan Tysk wind farm is jointly owned by Vattenfall and Stadtwerke Munchen, and it will use 80 Siemens 3.6MW turbines.
