Standard strength grout projects use a high-speed recirculating jet mixer, which is fed with cement from bulk storage silos.
But silos cannot be used to store and transport UHS grout, meaning individual bags have to be loaded into the mixer by crane, slowing down the process.
FoundOcean's new mixer allows larger volumes of grout to be produced by mixing larger batches, reducing the number of crane movements.
Two of the new mixers are now being used at the 108-turbine West of Duddon Sands offshore wind project. A third is being deployed to grout the foundations of Samsung's 7MW turbine prototype at Energy Park Fife in Scotland.
