Romax promotes Butterfly drivetrain to Chinese turbine makers

Company hosts technology seminars with Chinese Wind Energy Association

UK technology firm, Romax, has been promoting its newly-released Butterfly medium speed drivetrain, to Chinese wind turbine

manufacturers and component suppliers this week in Beijing.

The company held the latest in a series of technology seminars in conjunction with the Chinese Wind Energy Association. As Chinese manufacturers focus on building larger turbines at the lowest possible price, Romax is seeking to maintain its position as a respected supplier, emphasising that the Butterfly drivetrain can be used in turbines with capacities ranging from 3-10MW.

The Nottingham-based company has successfully diversified beyond the automotive industry and has become a significant player in both wind turbine drivetrain and gear box design and manufacture as well as supply of software for turbine performance  monitoring. The company has been active in China since 2006.
