Scheduled for delivery in summer 2014, the turbines will feature a rotor blade anti-icing system to cope with temperatures that drop to -20C in the winter.

This is the second contract the German turbine maker has secured from the Swedish developer in a few weeks, following an order for 24 3MW N117 turbines for the Maevaara wind project in northern Sweden.

"The follow-up order from O2 shows that our cold-climate turbines fitted with the anti-icing systems for rotor blades are a highly attractive option for our customers operating wind farms in regions with long and cold winters," said Nordex management board member Lars Bondo Krogsgaard.
