Gamesa wins 46MW from Indian company

INDIA: Gamesa has won a 46MW contract from Indian company ITC for a project in Andhra Pradesh state, eastern India.

The contract is for 23 G97 2MW low wind turbines, to go the Tagguparthi wind project, and a five-year service agreement. Installation is set for Q1 2014.

The G97 turbine comes in tower heights of 78 and 90 metres (a 120-metre version is in development). The is the second Indian deal for the machine in the last two months.

In May, Gamesa announced two deals to supply 230MW of turbines to projects across India. Indian developer Greenko bought 50 G97s for two 50MW projects in the states of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.

Additionally, China Light & Power (CLP) India signed a contract for 65 totalling 130MW. These will be installed at the Jath wind farm in the state of Maharashtra.
