The majority of the order (24) was for the N117/2400 low wind turbine. Five will be installed on ABO Wind's Kirchhain project in northern Hesse, western, Germany.

Other orders are seven N117s for Boreas' Hochheim I-III projects in Thuringia, central Germany. Nordex is also opening two service centres in the state.

Additionally, Nordex has contracts for three of its N117/3000 Delta turbines. Launched at EWEA 2013 in February, the turbine is designed for medium speeds.

Each Delta turbine will be mounted at a different height, with the tallest on a 141-metre tower. The Delta turbine will be going into full production next year.

Nordex director Lars Bondo Krogsgaard said: "Thanks to the recent contract awards, we see a good chance of additionally reinforcing our market position in Germany. We are achieving this not only with the N117/2400 for low wind locations, but also with our Generation Delta turbines for windy sites like in northern Germany."
