The giant Vestas V164 with its 8MW capacity and 164m diameter rotors is now going through final testing in Denmark and on the Isle of Wight, Vestas senior vice president, sales Uffe Vinther-Schou Vinther-Schou tells Windpower Monthly at RenewableUK Offshore 2013.

Though Vestas abandoned its plans to build a manufacturing plant at Sheerness in Kent, the company has not yet ruled out a production facility somewhere in the UK in the future, he says.
