GE wins biggest ever O&M deal

UNITED STATES: GE has won an 819-turbine maintenance deal from E.on North America for eight US projects.

The deal is GE's largest wind service contract to date. It covers GE 1.5-77, 1.6-100 and 1.6-82.5 turbines at Settlers Trail and Pioneer Trail wind farms in Illinois; Wildcat wind farm in Indiana; Stony Creek in Pennsylvania; and Pyron wind farm and the Panther Creek Wind Farm Phases 1, 2 and 3 in Texas.

The service agreements include remote monitoring and resets, performance analysis, on-site troubleshooting, parts and technical advisory support.

In 2011, EDP Renewables selected GE to service its entire North America fleet of wind turbines (around 400) under a three-year operations and maintenance (O&M) deal.

Other big O&M deals for GE include a maintenance agreement Iberdrola signed with the GE-Tamoin consortium for around 400MW (around 300 turbines) in Spain.
