Siemens wins 144MW deal in Sweden

SWEDEN: Siemens has been awarded a 144MW deal from RES subsidiary Nordisk Vindkraft and German communal utility Stadtwerke München for a project in eastern Sweden.

The deal is for Siemens 3MW turbine

The project, which is located located near Sidensjö, in Vasternorrland county, will use 48 3MW direct-drive turbines. Construction is expected to start this year, with the aim of bringing the wind farm online by spring 2015.

The Sidensjö project is Nordisk's biggest project to date.

Speaking about the project, Nordisk CEO Arne Lorenzen said: "This cooperation with Stadtwerke München marks another milestone for us and the wind farm will be one of the biggest in Sweden when constructed."
