The company originally submitted its application in mid-December 2012, but had to withdraw it in January, after it was discovered that some local authorities in Kent and East Sussex had not been fully consulted.
Some of these authorities do not even border the coast, but had to be consulted due to associated substations falling within their jurisdiction.
This second consultation has now been completed, with no notable change made to the project plans.
According to sister title Windpower Offshore, the UK Planning Inspectorate has until 29 March to decide whether to accept E.on's application. It is expected to do so. Once it has, much greater detail will be publicly available about the proposed design. The up to 700MW Rampion project is planned for waters off Brighton, on England's south coast.
