Nordex has officially confirmed a 50MW deal with French developer Akuo Energy for its Florida wind project.
Nordex will install and commission 21 N117/2.4MW low wind turbines across the district of Cuchilla de Zuniga in the department of Florida, 12 kilometres from the city of the same name, about 100 kilometres from the capital, Montevideo.
Nordex has also landed the plant service contract for the first ten years of operational life, set to begin last quarter 2013.
Nordex would not confirm, however, an order announced by Uruguayan electricity and transmission company UTE for the 67.2MW Artigas development in the Conlony of Juan Pablo Terra— UTE's largest wind development to date.
Other possible projects includes the 50MW Molino de Rosas development by Brazil's PTZ Bioenergy, near the town of Pan de Azúcar. Project documents state Nordex N100-2.5 as the reference technology.
Similarly, Estrellada, a Uruguayan joint venture between German companies Juwi and Ferrostaal, is processing the 50MW Melowind project in the department of Cerro Largo, also specifying the N100-2.5MW as the technology of choice.
