The German turbine manufacturer declined to give further details, saying it plans to make a formal announcement next week when it officially signs a contract with WPD Canada for the delivery of 52 MM92 turbines.

The developer, a wholly owned subsidiary of Germany’s WPD, has Fit contracts for six wind projects in Ontario totalling 105MW.

Repower’s Ontario manufacturing facility will initially employ 175 people, the company said, with the potential for that to increase as the business grows.
