The deal will see Gamesa supply 58 of its 850 kW wind turbines for Guangdong Nuclear's 49.3 MW project. The wind farm is under construction and is targeted to connect with the grid at the end of this year.
Gamesa first began supplying Guangdong Nuclear projects in 2009, and since then it has signed deals covering 350MW of projects with the utility in Shandong, Liaoning and Heilongjiang provinces. China Guangdong Nuclear has widely used Gamesa 850 kW and Gamesa 2.0 MW wind turbines.
As well as onshore development, Guangdong Nuclear is looking to exploit China's offshore potential, and in September signed a deal with Chinese turbine manufacturer Ming Yang to develop offshore wind farms.
