Pattern launches Puerto Rico's first commercial wind farm

PUERTO RICO: Pattern Energy's Finca de Viento Santa Isabel 95MW wind farm, the first commercial-scale development in Puerto Rico, has come online.

Finca de Viento Santa Isabel is the first wind power project developed by Pattern Energy in the Caribbean. It was originally set to be 75MW

It is comprised of 44 Siemens SWT-2.3-108 wind turbines. Pattern signed into a 20-year power purchase agreement with the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority (PREPA) in April last year.

Puerto Rico aims to generate 12% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2015, 15% by 2020 and 20% by 2035.
