The contract is for 34 V90 2MW turbines to go to the Keadby wind farm near Scunthorpe, Yorkshire. When the project is completed in Q3 2014 it will be the largest in England.

Delivery of the turbines will start in Q3 2013.

Speaking about the deal, Klaus Steen Mortensen said: "Vestas is focused on developing new projects in the UK and this wind farm is a great example of our continued commitment to both SSE and wind in the UK.

"The V90-2.0 MW builds on proven technology to ensure component reliability and durability, reducing the risk of downtime and helping ensure stability of the customers’ investment."
