Suzlon wins 300MW S9X supply agreement

INDIA: Suzlon has won a 300MW supply agreement from Indian developer ReNew Power Ventures for a series of projects in India.

Suzlon will supply 48 of its S9X 2.1MW turbines for a 100MW project in Maharashtra, to be completed by the end of the year. The remaining projects are yet to be announced.

The manufacturer has launched the S9X range in April last year. Suzlon described the turbine as an evolution of its S88 2.1MW turbine. The new range consists of the S95 and the S97, which are designed to work in class 2 or class 3 wind conditions respectively.

Speaking about the deal, ReNew CEO Sumant Sinha said: "This order marks our foray into the ‘Developers’ mode of large-scale wind power projects, notably in the areas of site development and power evacuation."
